The accused was alleged of creating a website that offered paid access to the company’s database containing the IP addresses of the players. This would enable other players to interrupt the game of their opponents by facilitating denial-of-service attacks.
The accused allegedly uploaded the screenshots of the data on the company’s (Riot Games) twitter account. “With the assistance of Maryborough Police, the members of identity and cyber crime group, arrested the accused at Hervey Bay. The accused also faced the accusations regarding the non-observance of his bail and the tainted property.
The accused was earlier arrested in mid-march for unethical hacking of the network of the Games Development Department. It was reported that the Bitcoins, which were in their original form & were not exchanged for the Australian dollars would be taken into confiscation. The hearing of the case at the local magistrates court is scheduled on July 24, said the police.
