Data Recovery (Formatted or Deleted data)
Don't bother if you have deleted your data or formatted your drive accidentally. You can get your data back but you have to take some precautions to get most of your data back. Extent of Data recovered depends on your response. So some do's and don'ts
- Don't over-write the data: When you realize that you have deleted your data or formatted your drive stop modifying files, copying files to drive, stop creating new files/folders means do not make any changes to files or file system
- Don't Defragment: If any De-fragmentation is scheduled stop it (after loosing your data). But It is also recommended go for regular de-fragmentation in order to get your maximum data recovered (before loosing your data)
- Don't Try Tools on original storage media: Make a bit-image of the storage media then try tools to recover your data from the image.
