That's because recent research studies and news reveal the increasing number of security threat incidents. Technology hackers are heavily working on the ways of compromising security of personal computers, laptops, and smartphones. Computer devices are being regularly infected by worms, Trojans, botnets, viruses, spam etc.
As per McAfee's (popular IT security company) latest official finding, malware is growing at a fast pace. The report confirms that security compromises are currently the highest in last 4 years. Malware has increased in the count of millions, with newer flaws erupting constantly. These include thumb drive corrupters, 'ransomware' attacks and botnets.
Compromises continue to happen with Windows personal computers. However the current trend of security threats is also moving more towards the digital devices of Apple's Mac and Android's smartphones. A famous example to security flaws is the Flashback Trojan that succeeded in stealing usernames and passwords of numerous users.
Looking at the increase in number of security flaws, technology companies are working towards minimizing threats. Google is one of them that is trying to make Android mobile OS' security system more effective and robust. While security compromises in iOS have increased, however they still remain low as compared to other operating systems.
McAfee's finding highlights details of new threats that have come up and sites examples of recent threats found. It also focuses on the need to protect all devices that are connected to Internet.
